The boys of summer have arrived. So has hot weather. One of the great things about west Tennessee is the fact that we experience all four seasons. Sure, it gets hot in the summer, but we saw a tremendous snowfall this past winter that left up to a foot of snow in some areas, including Jackson. capitol1The number of people wanting to succeed Phil Bredesen as governor in Tennessee is growing, seemingly by the day. The latest? Jackson businessman Mike McWherter, who happens to be to son of former Tennessee governor Ned McWherter. McWherter joins Dreseden senator Roy Herron, Kim McMillan and Ward Cammack as Democratic hopefuls… The GOP contenders include Shelby County Attorney General Bill Gibbons, Congressman Zach Wamp, Knoxville’s Mayor Bill Haslam, and Lt.Governor Ron Ramsey…

Are the St.Louis Cardinals off to a fast or what? Not only are the pitchers getting it done, but the Redbirds are scoring runs. Big time…

Almost time for those summer blockbusters… The launch is set for May 8th, when Star Trek takes off… The film is being touted as the greatest prequel of all time…
